THE EXPERIENCE

YoungDrive! Plus is aimed at children and teenagers who have successfully completed the YoungDrive! programme and are looking to take the next step. The course features more time behind the wheel and one to one instruction. It's a more advanced module that builds on skills already gained whilst retaining a sense of fun!

All our MINIs are fitted with dual controls and pupils will be accompanied by a DSA-approved instructor.

Please note: The YoungDrive! Plus voucher includes cancellation cover. Spectators are permitted for no additional charge.

THE PROGRAMME

• Introduction and briefing
• Review previous experience
• Building up speed - up to 50mph in closed-off sections of the circuit
• Reversing and Parking
• Turn in the road 
• Following at a safe distance
• Emergency stop
• Guide to using road markings and signs to understand junctions and roundabouts
• Focus on concentration, control, observation and smoothness
• Tips on basic vehicle maintenance
• Debriefing and certificate presentation
• Photo opportunity
• Q and A for parents and students

All aspects will be covered if safe to do so and depending on pupil's ability.

DURATION

The experience lasts approximately 2 hours in total, including registration, briefings and 50 minutes' driving time.

To take part in this experience you must meet the following requirements:

• Height 4'8" to 6'7"
• Max weight 18 stone
• Minimum age: 11 years

You will also need to have previously taken part in the YoungDrive experience, or an equivalent activity elsewhere.

YoungDrive! experiences are available at the following times:

• Brands Hatch in Kent on selected midweek and weekend dates
• Oulton Park in Cheshire on selected weekend dates
• Bedford Autodrome on selected weekend dates
